In May sent Save the Date press release to Lakeland Times, Vilas News Review, Pioneer Express, Star Journal, Wausau Daily Herald, Daily Globe in Ironwood, MI. This was a test to see if anyone would run it. I had people watching for it and it was run.

Headwaters guide wrote an article on the show and ran it at least 2 times. There were 2 write ups in the Vilas News Review one in June and one the week of the show. The media list is approximately 30 radio, news, media that I sent 2 separate press releases to. Wherever it ran that was free advertising.

I talked with TV and we were listed in community calendars that ran on TV. Free advertising. WAOW, WSAW, WJFW, WFXS. We also had mention on the mid-day news on WSAW and WJFW the week prior to the show.

I sent press release to the media list I got from Rouleen, Northwoods Children’s Museum. I contacted everyone on her list and received positive replies. One of the publications is: This Week In the Northwoods: Their publication goes into 11 chamber locations, into 70 plus lodging facilities who either put it in their rooms, hand it to their guests when they check in and or have it on display in their lobby. It's also in every business that advertises throughout Minocqua, Hazelhurst,

St. Germain, Sayner, Boulder Junction, Land O' Lakes, Conover, Phelps, Eagle River, Three Lakes, and Rhinelander as well as grocery stores.

2 other press releases were sent: one in June and the other late June to cover early deadlines by most newspapers.

I have already contact some media about the 2013 show. Looking at the little blue slips and all the emails and phone calls, I guess all the places I posted the show really did generate responses. There were more people who looked at websites to get the information this year.

If the show committee is using the blue registration slips for any reason, they need to be revised a bit to reflect other things, although can't make it to complicated. We did not pay for advertising on radio, but people heard about us on the radio, so that was through sending press releases. Free advertising

The next show dates are: July 19,20, 2013.

Since I have been doing PR for 3 years now and learned that some publications have ungodly early deadlines for summer activities I have contacted those that I know of to get our listing in them. A theme for 2013 is needed as soon as possible so PR can get to those with early deadlines (in fact we have already missed several deadlines for summer of 2013 advertising)

Vilas County News Review who publishes the Headwaters Guide will need details soon.

Talked with Dean Acheson, Northern Action Magazine, who wrote a nice piece about the show and ran it constantly throughout the year and gave him the dates for the 2013 show.

I have a really comprehensive list of media contacts for future people.

Rhinelander Star Journal, & 101 Things To Do $223.60

Lakeland Times $200

City Pages, Wausau Fun Book $144

Tomahawk Leader $40
